parachute re.dressedin greek “para”; alongside or beside.almost falling, beyond flying,in between the sky and the earth.the parachutist enters the void into a breath of wind.from military war technology to fashion wear we use minimal intervention to create new shapes that can be reversed back to the original structure. the parachute presents a rich and diverse interaction in which to create a series that implies encultured narrative through poetic content and the parachute re-dressed. these translucent magnificent soft structures carry the weight of men and yet are made of lightweight luxurious silk, which can be folded into a 1 by 1 square and carried anywhere. the “parachute re.dressed series” utilizes a lateral thought process whereby we thread an data path to unfold a rich and organic research/creation.
